What’s New at New 42 – February 2025

It’s Black History Month and we’re celebrating at the New Victory with Nuttin’ But a Word, Rennie Harris Puremovement’s mixtape of hip-hop dance styles. Rennie is one of our favorite choreographers, and his dance companies have been presented at the New Victory seven times—more than any other artist. Each time, he reminds us that his three laws of hip-hop are individuality, creativity and innovation. Rennie makes clear that hip-hop is always evolving and changing.

Evolution and change are certainly themes on all of our minds. We continue to believe that the arts are a child’s right starting from birth. Rennie’s laws remind us that as an organization, our core values exist to guide us in our decision-making. As a team, New 42 is tuning in and doing our best to listen and respond with a strong commitment to our mission of making extraordinary performing arts a part of everyone’s lives from the earliest years onwards. We are and will be dedicated to doing what is right for the young people, artists and educators we serve.
