Experience a guided tour of New York City dance this summer at New Victory Dance! Hosted by New Victory Teaching Artists and thoughtfully curated specifically for young audiences, each program showcases a mixed bill of acclaimed NYC-based dance companies—three per program, nine in total—and features an interactive Talk-Back with the dancers and choreographers. It’s a full summer of dance free for summer schools and camps!
A collage of music, poetry and hip-hop choreography celebrating Black women and girls, this piece pays homage to cultural touchstones—schoolyard games, drill teams, the Fly Girls of In Living Color—unfurling the tapestry of what it means to be labeled a Strong Black Woman.

Ladies of Hip Hop is an all female intergenerational dance collective that creates dance works illuminating the strength, power and diversity of women in hip-hop. Ever present in the work are the freestyle, cipher and call-and-response origins of street and club dance culture. Under the direction of Michele Byrd-Mcphee, Ladies of Hip Hop is rooted in the embodied experiences of women, creating a communal fabric; reclaiming and transforming spaces.
Founded by emerging immigrant choreographer Nicole von Arx, NVA & Guests is a dance company that celebrates cultural exchange and community building through dynamic dance theater works. Rooted in New York City and Switzerland, their goal is to connect global audiences with their unique blend of physicality and narrative. Nicole is a 2020 Jacob’s Pillow Choreography Fellow, and a 2023 NYSCA and 2020 Gland Culture grant recipient. Notable venues include The Joyce Theatre and Bâtiment des Forces Motrices.
Founded in 2007 by groundbreaking choreographer Andrea Miller, GALLIM nurtures creative careers and stimulates the imagination of worldwide audiences through continual innovation in the movement arts. GALLIM’s interdisciplinary programming includes the GALLIM School of Movement, Moving Artist Residency Program, national and international performance seasons, site-specific dance theater works, and collaborations in film, theater, fashion, music and brands.
