This workshop takes its cue from Step Afrika!’s Stono and centers the conversation about justice, reparations and representation in 2022. Led by a team of New Victory Teaching Artists, this workshop honors the process that Black culture engages in to create, and upcycle music. This session will examine the ways the world has engaged with Black music, explore the infusion of many styles of music and discover how they’ve come to influence the world.
