What’s New at New 42 – October 2024

And we’re off! The Princess and the Pea opened to packed houses at the New Victory this past weekend, and kids had a lot to say about their experiences:

Overheard from a four-year old: “This is my favorite theater in New York City.”

This is why we do our work, and whether you’re attending a show, “giving a kid a seat” or rehearsing at New 42 Studios, your support of us is vital to our mission of making extraordinary performing arts a part of everyone’s lives from the earliest years onwards.

We are honored to share that the Sherman Fairchild Foundation has just granted New 42 with a transformative $8 million grant. This generous gift will provide essential operating support and establish an endowment, advancing the artistic and educational mission of New 42 and helping ensure that the New Victory remains affordable and accessible for generations of young theatergoers.

We are incredibly grateful to the Sherman Fairchild Foundation for recognizing the unique and vital role of New 42 in transforming lives through high-quality performing arts and engagement. This level of commitment to an organization that provides arts and education to young audiences is extraordinarily rare and represents a crucial investment in the future of our institution, as well as strengthening our long-standing ties to New York City’s rich cultural history.

Cheers to an amazing start to the school year!
