To live in New York is to surround ourselves with cultures, traditions and experiences unlike our own. At the New Victory, we embrace that multiplicity and annually present more than a dozen shows from around the world. The 2019-20 Season launches today and all year long we’ll experience 15 extraordinary productions from nine different countries. Mindfully curated for New York families, the artistry and traditions on the New Victory stage inspire us to think as big as the city’s tallest skyscrapers and feel as deeply as the surrounding waterways. I hope you’ll make a day of visiting the New Victory and diving into the cultures represented by this season’s performances. In fact, our staff has created a fun series of travel guides so that you and your family can explore these far away destinations and their presence in New York City. Pair your tickets to Isango Ensemble’s Aesop’s Fables, from Cape Town, South Africa, with a tour of The Africa Center. Or enjoy some stroopwafel before checking out Jabberbabble from Theatergroep Kwatta of the Netherlands. Bon Voyage, and I look forward to seeing you all season long at the New Victory!
