Episodes air weekdays on WLIW21 and THIRTEEN this summer, and are available for streaming on THIRTEEN’S website. In addition to New Victory Theater, partners include Carnegie Hall, Exploratorium, Memphis Zoo, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY Public Library, OK Go and They Might Be Giants. Let’s revisit some of the New Victory Arts Break activities that can be seen in season 2 of Camp TV! Jump, Dance, Play! Join head counselor Zach wearing shoes that don’t match for the “Mismatched Shoe (or Sock!) Day” episode of Camp TV! It’s time to get active with New Victory Teaching Artist Olney Edmondson and groove to some Go-Go music. If Olney’s moves look familiar, you might remember her appearance in the North America “Play” Arts Break! Shout, Call, Clown! In the “Inside Out Day” episode of Camp TV, make an inside out sandwich, create a “mini moody me” cup that shows how you’re feeling, clown around with New Victory Teaching Artist Sarah Petersiel and shout it out with New Victory Teaching Artist Adia Tamar Whitaker! First up, Sarah shares her “ridiculous” magic tricks. Do you recall any of Sarah’s characters from the Asia “Connect” Arts Break? Later on in the episode, Adia shares her knowledge of the ring shout. Do you recognize Adia’s lesson from the North America “Create” Arts Break? The ring shout uses your whole body, including your voice, and relies on call-and-response led by community elders, known as callers. Follow along with New Victory Teaching Artist Adia Tamar Whitaker to learn the rhythms and sounds of the ring shout. We hope you enjoyed revisiting these New Victory Arts Break activities!
