From Windmill Theatre CoBased on the much loved picture book character created by Ted Prior

What does Grug love most? Adventures! The beloved burrawang-born bloke from Down Under returns in GRUG AND THE RAINBOW, an all-new colorful tale. Leaping from the pages of the celebrated series of picture books, Grug, with the help of his friends Cara the carpet snake and Snoot the echidna, sets off on a quest to capture a rainbow that he can call his very own. Featuring playful puppetry and imaginative storytelling, Grug and his mates bound onto the stage and into a host of hilarious situations.

"There are few things in life as delightful as hearing dozens of children chuckling, gasping and squealing with delight."Glam Adelaide  "Grug and the Rainbow is amongst the best children's theatre you will find; don't miss this gorgeous show."Barefoot Review "...especially created for the next generation of our littlest theatregoers (and those who just love Grug)." Popeye, Adelaide's beloved sightseeing boat, takes a leisurely forty minutes to travel its route along the meandering River Torrens. It would take poor Popeye four months to motor her way to New York Harbor!

Your Trip to Our Theaters

Just steps from the Times Square-42nd Street subway stops, The New Victory is a 499-seat, historic, jewel box theater restored to its original glory. The majority of our shows are presented here, in the oldest operating theater in New York City. Down in the lobby you'll find stroller parking, free lockers to store your stuff, healthy snacks and New Vic merch to take home. View a seating chart for this venue, or take a 360° virtual tour!

Located inside the New 42nd Street Studios building, The Duke on 42nd Street is home to New Victory programming that requires a more intimate space. Seating varies per production.

Located just down the block from The New Victory Theater, the New 42nd Street Studios host New Vic shows geared towards our youngest audience members. The space allows for a variety of seating configurations, including options for floor seating, making it easy to move around and step out of the theater area if you and yours need to do so.
