From Cahoots NI in association with the Lyric Theatre, Belfast

At the end of WWII, Ernst, a young evacuee from Frankfurt, finds himself alone and far away from home when he meets the mysterious Mr. H, a stranger with a trick or two up his sleeve. Fast friends, they set off down a road fraught with danger, hunger and uncertainty to return the young boy to his family. Original music and dreamlike stage effects help tell this dramatic story of two survivors who become each other's ally, protector and confidant. Inspired by a true story, NIVELLI'S WAR is a vivid and moving theatrical account of an incredible journey and magical friendship.

"Contemporary, stylish, artistic and filled with great special effects... primed to make the young audience think deeply about the subject matter."Mid-Ulster Mail  "A thing of profound, sometimes unsettling, beauty"Culture Northern Ireland "A magic, cinematic, almost dreamlike experience… that everyone can enjoy" PastieBap

Co-founded by Mc Eneany and Zoe Seaton in 2001, Cahoots NI counts illusion and visual intrigue as essential to their storytelling. They collaborate with theater artists from across Northern Ireland to craft high-quality and inventive theatrical experiences for kids and families, expanding young imaginations and sparking creativity in the process.

Accolades and Highlights:

  • Cahoots NI's production of Egg won a 2014 Off-West End Theatre Award for Best Production for Young People in London.
  • Paul Bosco Mc Eneaney was accepted into the Ulster Society of Magicians when he was only fifteen.

All The Way From...

Belfast, Northern Ireland

The RMS Titanic was built in Belfast between 1911 and 1912. At that time, Belfast was home to the largest shipyard in the world! Cahoots NI will be coming to New York by plane, though.

Your Trip to Our Theaters

Just steps from the Times Square-42nd Street subway stops, The New Victory is a 499-seat, historic, jewel box theater restored to its original glory. The majority of our shows are presented here, in the oldest operating theater in New York City. Down in the lobby you'll find stroller parking, free lockers to store your stuff, healthy snacks and New Vic merch to take home. View a seating chart for this venue, or take a 360° virtual tour!

Located inside the New 42nd Street Studios building, The Duke on 42nd Street is home to New Victory programming that requires a more intimate space. Seating varies per production.

Located just down the block from The New Victory Theater, the New 42nd Street Studios host New Vic shows geared towards our youngest audience members. The space allows for a variety of seating configurations, including options for floor seating, making it easy to move around and step out of the theater area if you and yours need to do so. Stroller parking and changing tables are available.
