Applications for 2019-20
New Victory LabWorks will open the week beginning December 17, 2018.

  • Prior to submitting an application, please review the PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS.
  • Complete all parts of the application (typed, 12 point font) and submit as one document in PDF format.
  • Attach any additional sample materials that can't be included within the PDF to your submission email. Alternatively, you may choose to submit files through Dropbox (send link to If you have physical materials to submit, please let us know by emailing
  • Submit the complete application to by 5pm, January 15, 2018. Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed.
Once all applications are reviewed, a select group of applicants will be contacted to participate in an interview with members of the New Victory Artistic Programming staff. All applicants will receive notification of final decisions. Questions can be addressed to No phone calls, please.





  • Artist(s) must be NYC-based and available to participate between July 2018 and June 2019.
  • Artist(s) must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Artist(s) must apply with a concept for a specific project. The project must be intended for family audiences (artist does not need prior experience in creating work suitable for families).
  • Proposed project must still be in development, including initial concept.
  • Artist(s) must have secured the rights to use or incorporate any pre-existing material (if applicable) as part of the proposed project.
  • Artist(s) must be able to attend rehearsals in Manhattan. Rehearsal hours are typically Monday through Saturday, within the hours of 10am to 6pm.
  • Artist(s) must be interested in actively participating in all aspects of the New Victory LabWorks program, including professional development, peer-based exchange and peer and/or audience feedback.

As a cover page, list the Name of Artist(s)/Company, Name of Project, Artist(s) Website (if available) and Primary Contact Information (name, email, mailing address and telephone).

Please also include how you heard about New Victory LabWorks.


Please provide the following as part of your application:

  • Articulate your concept/vision for the proposed project and indicate the current state of its development. How would LabWorks benefit your project? (Please describe any previous development received, if applicable.)
  • Describe your artistic mission, aesthetic and creative process. What type of work do you typically create?
  • Why are you interested in creating this work for family audiences? What is the specific target audience or age group you have in mind for this project?
  • Please give us a sense of your general availability within the program period of July 2018 through June 2019.


Please provide the following as part of your application:
  • Artistic sample* that demonstrates artist or company aesthetic and type of performance specialty (current or previous work). May include:
    - video documentation (suggested format: YouTube or Vimeo link in Application PDF)
    - photo documentation (suggested format: Flickr or Facebook link in Application PDF)
    - scripts (suggested format: PDF attachment)
    - design renderings (suggested format: PDF attachment)
    - music (suggested format: SoundCloud link in Application PDF)
    - other relevant materials (social media links, etc.)
  • A script or any working documents related to the proposed project (if applicable or available)
  • Bios, CVs, and/or profiles of participating artists and project collaborators
