About The New Victory Theater
Welcome to The New Victory Theater!
Love of theater starts here.
Love of theater grows here.
Love of theater lasts here.
The New Victory Theater is New York City's premier performing arts nonprofit entirely devoted to kids and families. Located on iconic 42nd Street, The New Victory presents extraordinary productions of theater, dance, circus, opera and music from around the world at affordable prices. But for the 2 million people who have passed through our doors since 1995, a visit to the New Vic is so much more than the shows on stage...
We scour the globe, traveling near and far to find performances that spark the imagination and broaden our understanding of the world and our place in it. Each season features a mix of performing arts genres and age ranges to appeal to our diverse audience base.
We champion innovative, venturesome performing arts for audiences of all ages. New Victory LabWorks fosters the creation of new work, offers professional development and advocates for high-quality performing arts and arts engagement in the lives of young people.

For many New York families, we are their cultural home. Theatergoers big and small are greeted with warm welcomes from New Victory Ushers, energized by our arts-based engagement activities and grateful for complimentary conveniences like lockers, stroller parking and booster seats.
For New York City Schools, we are the largest provider of live performances. Every year, The New Victory serves 40,000 school kids who see high quality, international productions for only $2 per ticket and participate in free classroom workshops before and after their visits..

This video was developed with inspired and generous support from Diane and Marc Spilker for the theater's 20th Anniversary in 2015.
For many NYC school kids, a trip to The New Victory is their very first trip to a theater.
Committed to bringing kids to the arts and the arts to kids, The New Victory Theater's contributions to the cultural landscape of the city have been honored by the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities with the 2014 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award, a national Arts Education Award from Americans for the Arts, and a 2012 Drama Desk Award for "providing enchanting, sophisticated children's theater that appeals to the child in all of us, and for nurturing a love of theater in young people."
It takes a committed group of donors to ensure this opportunity for all students.

For many students, we are mentors as they pursue college entry and success. We take pride in sharing our experience with high school and college students, and regularly present at local, national and international conferences.
The New Victory Theater is a project of The New 42nd Street, an independent, nonprofit organization that leads the evolution of the reinvented 42nd Street. As its first step in cultivating a unique cultural and entertainment destination at the "Crossroads of the World," The New 42nd Street restored and reinvented the Victory Theater, dedicating the oldest operating theater in New York City to its youngest theatergoers.
Designed to address both arts access and diversity in the arts, the New 42nd Street Youth Corps pairs paid employment and life skills training at a leading cultural nonprofit with opportunities to see world-class live performances.
